Click2Gov - Converting from Websphere 3.5 to Weblogic Express version 8.1 SP1.

 

This document is intended merely as a checklist.  If you need specific instructions or somebody to walk you through the processes, contact Customer Support at C2GSupport@hteinc.com

1. Ensure you have the following items available to you:

    *STOP AND RESTART THE SERVER

2. Stop and disable the Websphere 3.5 services, including : 

3. Create a bea root directory on the server ie: "C:\bea". 

4. Copy the BEA license file into "C:\bea".  Make sure the file is named " license.bea ".

5. Run BEA Weblogic 8.1 SP1 installation wizard.  Use documentation provided by Click2Gov.

6. Run BEA domain wizard.  Use documentation provided by Click2Gov.

7. After the domain has been created, Open the windows services and verify that the BEA service is using the Administrator username and password for starting the service.

7. Re-start computer.

8. Check that the bea service is running.  Login to the console using port 7001 in the URL.

9. Use wizard to install the C2G applications that will be running on the WebLogic Server.

10. After each successful installation, test the application.

11. Once all applications have been successfully installed, Merge the old configuration file with the new configuration file so that the original configuration settings are brought over the the WebLogic applications.

If the installation is successful, leave the WebSphere application and its associated services disabled for a pre-determined amount of time before uninstalling or deleting them from the server.

If you encounter a problem during the installation that is not quickly resolved, simply disable the WebLogic service and re-enable and re-start the Websphere services.
